Keates, Waldock and Dewar (2022) 

This letter response to the works of Bambara (2022) and Camarata (2022). The authors specifically focus on power dynamics and Autistic sociality.  The authors recommend further education is needed for non-Autistic people, rather than Autistic people, on the subject of Autistic sociality. They stress that this is needed to lower the burden placed on Autistic interlocutors when engaging with cross-Neurotype interactions and socialisation. The article concludes with recommendations to address issues found in cross-Neurotype interactions – these include psychosocial interventions to support the acceptance of Autistic people and their methods of communication and interpretation.
